 We at PointABird German Shorthairs believe in producing quality German Shorthaired Pointers that are healthy, versatile and conform to the American Kennel Club Standard for the breed. Sound temperament, trainability and natural hunting ability are all important traits we infuse in our GSPs, thus giving them the advantage to excel in and out of the bird field. First and foremost, our GSPs are our companions. They are a big part of the family and reside in our home; putting to rest the old myth; “A hunting dogs place is outside in a kennel”. Nothing could be further from the truth! Our GSPs actively participate and hold titles, points or certificates in AKC Conformation Shows, AKC field events, German Shorthaired Pointer Club of America (GSPCA) water retrieving tests and the North American Versatile Hunting Dog Association (NAVHDA).
Each of our German Shorthaired Pointers is certified free of hip dysplasia, cardiac and eye abnormalities by the Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) and the Canine Eye Registration Foundation (CERF).
